The GHS Varsity Cheerleaders consist of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade girls and/or boys. The GHS Junior Varsity Cheerleaders consist of 7th, 8th, and 9th grade girls and/or boys. The cheerleaders are chosen by a panel of judges as soon as the Varsity basketball season is over. Practice for the next school year begins as soon as tryouts have been held. During these practices the squad is making up a dance in which they will take to camp in the summer. They will compete against surrounding schools in a home pon routine, an extreme routine and a cheer competition. Varsity Cheerleaders cheer at all Varsity football games, pep-rallies, Varsity Girls and boys basketball games as well as participate in all community activities.
