My name is Chris McVay (Mr. McVay). I am married to Lisa McVay who teaches Pre-K at Banks Primary School. We have been married for eighteen years! I have two daughters: Sophie who will turn nine soon and is in the 4th grade and Hannah who is six and is in 1st grade, both at Banks.
I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy going to the beach, watching movies, going to Six Flags, and cooking. My girls enjoy art, drama, dance, gymnastics, baton, soccer, and, of course, all things Auburn. War Eagle!!!
In addition to Auburn, some of my interests include Star Wars, classic TV shows and movies, Christian music, and talk radio (political and sports).
I did not go to school to become a teacher, but this will be my 22nd year of teaching. I was going to school to become an environmental biologist with the hopes to work for a world leading environmental company. God changed all of that by calling me to become a teacher.
I am looking forward to working with the students at Goshen High School. It is truly an honor to teach for Pike County Schools.
I earned my Master's in Education from Auburn University in 2001.
I earned my Bachelor's in Education from Jacksonville State University in 1997.
