JROTC Mission

The mission of Junior ROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens.

Junior ROTC is a cadet run program in which they learn to:

  • Appreciate the ethical values that underlie good citizenship.
  • Develop leadership potential and learn to live and work cooperatively with others.
  • Think logically and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Appreciate the importance of physical fitness in maintaining good health.
  • Understand ways to resist negative peer pressure and support others.
  • Develop good self discipline and mental management abilities.
  • Understand the importance of high school graduation for a successful future.
  • Learn about college and other advanced educational and employment opportunities and develop the skills necessary to work effectively as a member of a team.

JROTC Events

 The JROTC Color Guard, Drill Team, Rifle Team and Physical Training Team participate in numerous competitive events with other JROTC units throughout the state of Alabama.  Other JROTC events include:

  •      Participating in numerous parades
  •      Presenting Veteran's Day Programs
  •      Community Service Activities
  •      School Support Activities
  •      JROTC Formal Ball
  •      JROTC Olympiad
  •      JROTC Picnic
